The following information is provided as an example of what occurs at check-in luggage inspections and security checks (security inspection), but for specific inquiries, contact the airline you are booked with.

Check-in Luggage Inspection

Check-in luggage inspections are handled by the airline staff at check-in time.
At the International Passenger Terminal, the luggage is taken from the passenger and submitted to an x-ray scan.
After taking your luggage, the airline staff will perform an inspection, and to confirm the contents of the luggage, the traveller might be called over to assist. Please be aware of this.

Knives, Golf Clubs, and any other items that may be used as weapons are prohibited aboard the airplane. Passengers carrying knives are requested to place them in their check-in luggage and hand them over to airline staff when checking in, and not to bring these items on board.

The following dangerous items may not be carried in check-in baggage nor carried aboard an airplane.

Please be aware that if you happen to have one of these dangerous items in your check-in baggage or on your person, this items will have to be disposed of before you are allowed to board the airplane.

The following items may be brought on board or kept in check-in luggage with certain restrictions.

  • Alcoholic beverages (with alcohol content greater than 24%, up to 70%)
    *Limited to 5 liters per person
    *There is no limit on beverages with an alcohol content below 24%.
  • Make-up and clothing (nonradioactive items)
    *Limited to items holding up to 0.5 kg or 0.5 liters, up to 2 kg or 2 liters total per person.
  • Dry ice (limited to when it is used to chill fresh food items)
    *Limited to 2.5 kg per person.
  • Cigarette lighters (liquified gas lighters and oil lighters that use an absorbent)
    *Limited to 1 per person, carry-on luggage only.
  • Safety matches
    *Limited to 1 small match per person, check-in luggage only.
  • Hair curlers
    *Items with concentrated hydrocarbon gas that have a safety cover attached to the heat source. Limited to 1 per person.
  • Aerosol products for sports and daily use (items with flammable or poisonous gases excluded)
    *Limited to items holding up to 0.5 kg or 0.5 liters, up to 2 kg or 2 liters total per person, check-in baggage only.

Security Checks (Security Inspection)

Safety inspections are in place for examining the items brought aboard by passengers.
Jackets, cell phones, computers, jewellery, purses, etc. are placed in a tray and passed through an x-ray machine, and passengers walk through a metal detector. If the metal detector reacts, your clothing and its contents will be inspected. Please be aware that your purse may also be searched, and that you may be subjected to a physical body search.
